Waimairi Tennis Club
Waimairi Tennis Club is seeking to appoint a Head Coach to coordinate all coaching at the club.
Waimairi is the largest tennis club in Canterbury by membership with over 350 junior members and 150 senior members. The club has three all-weather synthetic grass courts, and four Rebound Ace flexible hard courts. Six courts have LED lighting. It is located in a central suburb in Christchurch. The club fields 35 junior and 10 senior competition teams, as well as premier men’s and women’s.
The position is a contract one responsible to the Club Manager, and works closely with the Junior Administrator
The successful applicant will ideally hold an ITF Level 2 qualification or equivalent, have a strong playing background, and be familiar with the latest national and international coaching programmes and methods.
The duties of the Head Coach will include:
· coordinating all club group coaching programmes year round,
· supervising a team of 20 professional coaches,
· overseeing the standard of coaching delivered,
· carrying-out an extensive coaching programme in seven schools involving 2000 children
· delivering Tennis Xpress and Cardio senior coaching programmes
· introducing new coaching programmes
A retainer is payable for coach administration.
The on-court coaching pay rate is negotiable.
Hotshots equipment including balls, racquets, trollies, cones, nets, and throw down lines, is provided by the club.
It is expected that the junior club programmes will provide an average of 15 hours per week for 17 weeks in the summer.
Private coaching of members and non-members, a winter coaching programme, and school holiday camps would be additional.
It is expected that the successful applicant will take up the position at the start of the summer in August 2022.

HEAD TENNIS COACH: Sumner Tennis and Squash Club Inc.
Sumner Tennis & Squash Club Inc. (STSC) is seeking to appoint a Tennis Head Coach.
STSC is one of the few combined racquets clubs in Canterbury and, like Sumner itself, it has a real community atmosphere. Our club’s junior section is exceptionally strong with regional and national players having emerged from our courts, plus we enjoy one of the largest adult memberships in Canterbury - many of whom are eager to improve their on-court skills. STSC was recognised as 2021 Club of the Year at the recent Tennis Canterbury Awards and enjoys a full membership with a waitlist.
Sumner is a beautiful coastal village with surfing beaches, an abundance of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, and even has it’s on cinema.
As STSC Head Coach, you will be working closely with the President, Club Captain, Committee, Junior Administrator and Hotshots Coordinator.
Appropriate work visa or be a NZ resident
Fluency in written and spoken English

An outgoing and dynamic personality that can relate easily to both adults and juniors.
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Professional Club Coach/ITF Level2/ or very experienced JDC
Hot Shots Coaching
Junior Group Coaching
Development and nurturing of talented Junior Players.
Adult Group Coaching
Private Junior/ Senior lessons
Communication with the club, players and parents in a timely manner.
Willingness to represent the club in the interclub competition would be a bonus.

Tournament Organisation and assistance
In School Tennis.
Remuneration will be discussed with interested applicants with the possibility of a retainer/base contract offered to the right candidate.
