JUNIORS

Since 2012 Tennis Canterbury have organised the Wilding Challenge - aimed at players 10 and under as at 30 June. Its is held during the second school term with Christchurch and its surrounds divided into five areas, each then select a team of 5 boys and 3 girls with a reserve for each team.
The five areas are:
Southern
Cashmere, Halswell, Spreydon.
Eastern
Edgeware, Shirley, Burwood Park, Sumner, Opawa, Beckenham, Redcliffs, South Brighton and Mount Pleasant
Central: Waimairi, Elmwood, Te Kura/Hagley Park
North West
Burnside Park, Avonhead, Bishopdale, Riccarton Domain & North Canterbury
Country
Ellesmere, Malvern, Mid Canterbury & North Canterbury
These players then compete against the other areas over six Sunday mornings. Each team will play at least 5 matches with all matches played indoors guaranteeing play each week.
The concept has a goal of providing a pathway for our talented players, to give them more competition but in a fun team environment, to bring them together socially and to enhance their coaching opportunities.
If you wish to be considered for one of the teams, please contact andrew.falck@canterburytennis.co.nz
There is a cost of $30 per round played for each player which covers Coaching & Ball costs and matches.
